Well done to the @Haileybury First XI on an impressive performance against a quality Wesley College side. Chasing 181 (Mark 4/30, Giles 3/48), Haileybury got home with 5 wickets to spare. The Bloods batted on, dismissed for 237 (Bostan 87 not out, McHale 52) @APS_Sport

Congrats to @geelonggrammar Yr 11 student Georgia Congrats to @geelonggrammar Yr 11 student Georgia Gall who was presented with her baggy light blue cap by Principal, Rebecca Cody, prior to the match against @melbournegrammarschool.

In a historic occasion, Georgia becomes the first girl to represent the 1st XI in the 163 years of Cricket (and almost 50 years of co-education) at GGS.

Georgia was part of the @starsbbl squad for the 2020 WBBL season and spent the summer representing Essendon Maribyrnong Park in Women’s Premier Cricket.

February 26 is a historically significant day for Cricket at Geelong Grammar School. On this day in 1858, GGS and @scotch_college_melbourne played the first public school sporting contest in Victoria — a cricket match in Geelong in which Scotch prevailed by 14 runs — and today Georgia has achieved another significant milestone for both herself and GGS.

The most recent girl to achieve this feat of representing her school in the First XI was Meg Lanning, the current Australian Women’s Cricket Capt, at @careygrammar in 2004.

Georgia certainly has a bright future ahead and we are all right behind her in her journey!
